Richard McCaffrey Photography
Richard's photographs have been featured in music publications such as Rolling Stone, Cream, Guitar Player and in national magazines / newspapers Blender, People, Look, NY Daily News and The San Francisco Examiner. Images have also appeared on MTV, VH1, CBS Sunday Morning as well as on hundreds of Albums / CDs and in numerous books on the music industry. He is the co-author of the book X-capees, a photo-history of the early San Francisco punk rock scene, and Not Fade Away, a tribute to Jerry Garcia. His collection documenting the music industry contains over 100,000 Photographs.
The collections found here span the years 1973-1985, when Richard lived in the San Francisco Bay area. He was Chief Photographer for BAM: The California Music Magazine, and also worked with musicians, record companies and rock promoter Bill Graham. Currently Richard lives in Providence, Rhode Island, where he is contributing photographer to both The Providence and Boston Phoenix. Richard is represented by Getty Images and still contributes to Rolling Stone and many other publications.
